Saturday athletics club is part of cornwall athletics academy
Our club exists to introduce young athletes to the exciting sport of Track Field Athletics and to offer opportunities to discover and develop new skills in a fun but safe environment.
Parents often ask.......
"My children are quite nervous about starting."... That's perfectly normal and always speak to us about any concerns. We do take our training very serious but it is delivered with a huge amount of fun...we like to see smiles!
"Are the CAA coaches qualified?" Yes, our coaches are qualified and licensed to coach under England Athletics and licenses are renewed every three years together with a new DBS
"Can I help or get involved?"... Yes, of course, we actually encourage it. We would ask you to complete a self declaration form and then help alongside our qualified coaches - it's a great way to learn more about athletics. We always welcome help to officiate when we have competitions too.
"Will there be opportunities to compete?" Yes, we hold our own regular friendly 5 Star competition and there are numerous 'open' competitions throughout the season. We'll keep you up to date on events through our Club Facebook page.
"Are there options for my children to keep developing their athletics as they get older?". Absolutely. It's a natural step into the evening training sessions at Cornwall Athletic Club - same familiar coaches and drills. Saturday Athletics Club is just the start of their development pathway
